2008 MONTALUCE, CHARDONNAY,
GEORGIA
$8 GLASS
Aromas of green apples, pear and lemon zest
announce the arrival of Montaluce’s inaugural Chardonnay release.
What follows are nuances of smoke, walnut and honeysuckle. On
the palate, the soft texture is supported by ample acidity and
persistent fruit flavors while picking up distinctive slate mineral
notes. Exceptional balance and an impressive finish make this
crisp white a table worthy candidate for poultry, fish and fresh
summer salads.
2008 MONTALUCE, VIOGNIER, GEORGIA
$7 GLASS
The Northern Rhone’s premier white grape has
clearly found a home in North Georgia as evidenced by Montaluce’s
first Viognier. The delicate perfume suggests ripe peaches,
apricots and acacia. On the palate, the wine is surprisingly
rich and nearly full-bodied, delivering flavors of tangerine, baked
apples with nuances of sweet spice. Stylish and beautiful, try
this fresh white with rich seafood dishes or as an aperitif.
2008 MONTALUCE, “RISATA,”
GEORGIA
$6 GLASS
Italian for “laughter,” Montaluce’s Risata is
surely no joking matter. A beautiful rose color leads to
aromas that suggest watermelon and summer strawberries. On the
palate flavors of cherries and raspberries dominate with hints of
cranberries and savory Italian herbs. Enjoy this delicious
summer quaffer on the patio with friends or with shellfish or
salads.

2006 Donnafugata, “Sedara”, Nero
d’ Avola, Sicily
$8 GLASS
Nero d'Avola, this is a richly colored wine,
inky dark-ruby and almost blackish in the glass. Also typical is a
"New World" aroma of exuberant, forward, almost over-the-top fruit,
blueberries and cream with accent notes of vanilla and spice. A
hearty wine that will appeal to those who like their reds in the
brawny, ripe "modern" style.
